The leather spine is slpit with a quarter inch missing from the top and a quarter inch strip missing from the sping for three inches at the front cover and spine. Top edge gilt other edges untrimmed. Numerous black and white illustrations. Internally in excellent, crisp, nearly unopened condition. Overall a reading copy. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hardcover.

Leather. Etat : Good. 1001pp 7 x 4.5 inch. Maroon leather cover with gilt titling and decoration to spine, top edges gilt. Undated but generally believed to be early 20th century. Still well bound with just some wear to top of spine and extremities. Interior good and clean, no deliberate marks, no names nor inscriptions. Printed on India paper. This offering is a copy of The Virginians, A Tale of the Last Century, the Edition de Luxe (a Limited Edition limited to one thousand numbered sets, though this one is NOT numbered) written by William Makepeace Thackeray. The book was published by The C. T. Brainard Publishing Company in the later 1800s or early 1900s. It's not an ex-library copy, the book is in good + condition, and it has no dust jacket. It has gold-gilded top page edges and red boards but does not have the marbled end pages. The book is 6" by 8 1/2" and has 401 pages with a Table of Contents and a List of the many black-and-white illustrations which are not included in the page count. Thank you!
