Four volumes with the ownership signature of noted psychologist, co-founder of the American Academy of Psychotherapists, and current (as of their publication) A.A.P. Director of Publications, Henry Guze on the cover or first leaf. Some sunning at the spine and edges, a near fine set. The first five issues of the organ of the American Academy of Psychotherapists. Issues contain articles, cartoons, book reviews, even the occasional poem. Volume I also contains short biographies of the editorial board. The themed issues are: Preludes, Hate and Aggression, Tenderness, Keeping the Therapist Alive, and Marriage. According to the editorial in the premier issue, the American Academy of Psychotherapists was founded a decade prior by a group of around a dozen psychotherapists. (However, their website states it was only three: Henry Guze, Jules Barron, and Albert Ellis.) By the next year, they had grown to about 70, and famed psychotherapist Carl Rogers was named the first president. The A.A.P. is still an active organization, and *Voices* is still in publication. A notable collection of the first five issues of a journal dedicated to keeping psychiatrists connected in order to avoid burnout and isolation.
