There is just a touch of pushing to the spine tips, aside from the pushing, the boards are very clean and fresh. Internally clean with a touch of foxing to the closed text blocks. No foxing or finger marks inset. Signed and inscribed by the author to the front end-paper with the recipient having written his name and address above. The inscription reads.MATTHEW - ALL BEST WISHES / PATRICK. Matthew Clarke was a lifelong friend of Sir Patrick', his father having served in the RAF with Mr Moore. The family connection continued throughout the astronomer's life, especially after the early death of Matthew Clarke's parents. An excellent association copy. The dust wrapper is in near fine condition with no loss or tears and with bright colouring. Shallow chipping to the spine tip, also to the corners of the front flap fold as well as to the fold.There is the merest hint of soiling to the rear panel.
