Rudolf von Laban (18791958) war ein ungarischer Tänzer, Choreograf und Tanztheoretiker. Er begründete die nach ihm benannte Labanotation. Der Band enthält, jeweils mit Bildtafeln, nach einer Einführung fünf Reigen : Über menschlichen Ausdruck, Über den Tänzer, Über tänzerische Erziehung und Kultur, Über Tanz als Kunst, Über Reigengesetze. The frontispiece, the tissue guard, and all of the plates are in excellent condition, the frontispiece has a slight bit of puffiness in two or three spots, quite minor. The reason for the only Good rating is the loss at the top edge of the spine, the loss a little way down from there, some wear and tear along the front edge of the spine, and a small tear and loss at the bottom edge of the spine. The gilt lettering on the front is nicely bright, on the spine it is a little dulled. The cover edges are in very good shape. There is a spot of rub-through at both bottom corners, extending a little bit onto the edges. The two top corners have only tiny spots of rub-through. The page edges are very clean. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid. The pages are nicely tight throughout. The front cover has a little bit of give if you pull it from the side, only over its top half. The rear cover is tightly bound, a tiny bit of webbing showing just off the top edge of the juncture between it and the rear end paper, only going down about an inch. The interior the book is in very nice condition. As just stated, the plates are in excellent condition. The pages, text and plates, are exceptionally clean. I turned them all over. There are two facing pages that have a fairly small brown stain to the right and left of their juncture, neither near to the print. I didn't see any other soiling. There is some of the expected crinkling, very minor, but I didn't see any creasing, no placeholder creases, no turned-down corners. There are no markings in the book. There are no attachments. There is a penciled name off the bottom edge of the blank front end paper. I didn't see any other writing.
