Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. WORLD SERVICE OF THE METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH R.E. DIFFENDORFER 1923. This book brings you the astonishing stories of the missionary work of the Methodist Episcopal Church, both within the United States and across the Globe. If you have any interest in or sympathy for missionary work, this book, now nearing almost 100 years old, will engage you beyond your expectations. I was impressed by the depth of the commitment to missionary work, so many places and peoples, and the special efforts contained in this book, to report about it. I am very pleased to be able to offer a very nice copy of: The World Service of the Methodist Episcopal Church, by Ralph E. Diffendorfer, Editor, assisted by Paul Hutchinson, Foreign Section and William F. McDermott, American Section. This large hard cover book (7 ¾ x 9 ¾ inches, 704 pages) was published by the Methodist Episcopal Church, of Chicago, Illinois, dated June 1923 and the Second Printing (so stated). The book is bound in dark blue cloth with embossed and gilt titles on cover and spine. I am happy to report as well that the book is especially well illustrated, typically with b&w photos taken from the different Missions around the world and the United States. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are perhaps a bit dust-dulled and lightly bumped at the corners and spine tips. The gilt titles are a bit tarnished (I am still personally looking for the means to restore the brilliance of gilt titles on vintage books; comments welcome) but certainly legible. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and photos are clean and bright, without age-toning or foxing at all, from cover to cover. Both hinges are fully intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book was not ex-library although it seems to have been once withdrawn from one; likely a donation to a Friend s sale.
