These include a significant amount of new material not found in the Latin text, such as the adventures of Apollonius in Galacia and Bulgaria, his imprisonment by Nemrot, and his adventures in Chrysa. The author argues that these additions are not simply the product of the author's imagination, but are drawn from a variety of literary and historical sources, including Byzantine chronicles, romances, and saints' lives. The author concludes by suggesting that the Middle High German Apollonius von Tyrland is a valuable and important text in its own right, and that it sheds light on the complex and multifaceted nature of medieval literary culture.
