Hardcover. Etat : Good. The road/strip maps appear to have been collated from the Gentleman's Magazine where they appeared in progressive volumes between 1776-73. In theory there should be 39 plates plus a general map: with this volume, there is a general map (Kitchin) plus plates 1-18, 20-32, 34-37. Each double page map has been mounted on backing paper and is attached by a tab so that the map can seen flat. General map with outline colouring, trimmed to top, loss to lower margin with associated small tear/slight loss. Maps uncoloured and with variable trimming, discolouring and wear. Half-bound with marbled boards. Spine, edges and corners worn. Faces scuffed. Modern bookplate to front pastedown. Hinges cracking. No title and no text pages. Essentially, an incomplete set of road maps from the late 1700's. Sold as a collection of maps. Ref. Fordham, A Catalogue of Road-Books.
