James Davison Hunter was the Labrosse-Levinson Distinguished Professor of Religion, Culture, and Social Theory at the University of Virginia and Executive Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture. Peter Berger was one of the preeminent sociologists of the twentieth century.
