Hardcover. Etat : Fair. Half-leather boards with marbled sections. The spine, which has raised bands, is torn/bumped at the head and tail. A section of the leather (c 35 x 15 mm) at the tail of the spine - (i.e. that below the lowest band) - is missing; and some of the backfill material is showing. See main photo. The corner edges are also bumped and rubbed. There is a nameplate on the front pastedown and some writing on the ffep. Tanning (and foxing) ranges from mild to moderate generally but is more pronounced on the preliminary and final pages. See photo of title page as an example of the more visible evidence of this age-related discolouration. Please note that while the book block is intact and the binding remains tight, it is fragile. pp.309/120 x 170mm.
