It offers a period view of landscapes, towns and scenes observed during the journey, with engraved title-page and plates characteristic of the edition. Travel account of Holland, Brabant and part of France, first made in the autumn of 1789 and published in 1796. Of interest for its engraved plates by Samuel Ireland and Cornelis Apostool, and for its documentary and visual value as late eighteenth-century travel writing. The volume presents contemporary impressions of the regions visited, combining narrative interest with pictorial appeal. Book images are non-contractual.
