The biochar is found to have a positive impact on soil fertility, resulting in an increase in crop yield without causing a hazard to soil and water environment. Biochar produced from varied technological methods of pyrolysis can convert agriculture crop residues like coconut shells, arecanut husks, maize cob, cereal-pulse crop husks, grasses, forestry products, animal and poultry manures to biochar. From the field investigation the combined application of biochar and FYM with recommended dose fertilizers, resulted the most favourable physical, physico-chemical, chemical and biological properties of soil compared to biochar, FYM and RDF applied individually. Overall, the study indicated that, necessity of combined application of biochar, FYM and fertilizer for higher growth and yield, reflecting and confirming the improved nutrient availability to aerobic rice as compared to alone application of biochar, FYM and fertilizers. 72 pp. Englisch.…
