David Ashfield was one of Kurt Deitrick's most celebrated…models, one of the most popular male-nude models of the 1980's, and one of the sexiest ever. The print is considerably larger, at 5 X 7 inches, and is encased in an oversize protective plastic sheet. It shows the boyishly handsome, lean, muscular, and well-endowed David Ashfield at the peak of his beauty in one of his most beautiful poses, a full-frontal, fully erect shot. Why beautiful? According to Peter Hujar, the (still controversial) erection is the human male body in its most beautiful state. It is the "middle" state between normal/"soft" and orgasmic/"explosive", when the human male, not just the body, becomes "state-less", however fleetingly. This is not a digital print or a later, contemporary print but was printed directly from the original negatives in the 1980's, at the time of first publication. Beautifully developed, with great clarity and warm tones, on Kodak Photographic Paper. This is the genuine article, an absolute "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, item for David Ashfield, Kurt Deitrick, and erotic art photography collectors. This original vintage color photographic print is now collectible.
