Publisher's quarter saffron-stained parchment over oat buckram, tilted in gilt to spine. Fore and bottom-edges uncut. Soiling to spine, and very slightly to boards. Some leaves toned to margins only, and some gatherings a little proud. Generally a very good copy. The first English translation of Rémy's 'Daemonolatreiae Libri Tres' (1595), which is drawn from the trials of 900 people executed for witchcraft in the Duchy of Lorraine. It is, alongside the Malleus Malificarum (1496), one of the most significant books on witches and demons ever published.
