Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book provides a brief history of the collegiate church of Middleham, from the period that, under the auspices of Richard duke of Gloucester, it was erected into a college and deanery. It throws light on the exemptions and liberties of a jurisdiction which soon will have passed away due to the sacrilege of the nineteenth century. The author searched various sources to render it correct and interesting, including the many documents detailing the history of the church and parish of Middleham and its earlier condition. It discusses the themes of the church's governance, its members and officers, and concludes with insights on its main subject, concluding that these many insights make this book a valuable addition to the ecclesiastical annals of England.
