Ajouter au panierFull Calf. Etat : Good. Fourth Edition, Revised. lvi + 1105pp, 8.5 x 5.5 inch. This set originally belonged to Melville Portal of Laverstoke probably whilst at Harrow School in 1835. (He later became an MP, JP, and High Sheriff of Hampshire). It has his name and date neatly on fep as well as book plate on paste-downs and remaine…d in the Family Library till it was all sold off in the 1990s. The interior is good with no deliberate markings, just some age staining/foxing (not severe). Vol I is missing bottom couple of inches off spine but otherwise still well bound together, Vol II the leather is split down the front hinge and to top and bottom of rear hinge but all is still holding together- the front board being held by the strings. in both volumes the content is still well bound together, all edges marbled, marbled end papers (not broken). The fold out charts are all still in their original creases. They weigh 1.8 kg and additional carriage may be requested for shipping to some overseas countries.
