Handelt unter anderem ausführlich über die Schlachten von Manassas, Shiloh und Richmond. Der Wahrheitsgehalt der Darstellung ist allerdings mit Vorsicht zu genießen: "This Hungarian imposter claiming to having been a Confederate cavalry colonel was a non-combatant hospital orderly" (Howes). 1864 erschien auch eine deutsche Übersetzung. - Unbeschnitten und stellenweise auch unaufgeschnitten. Vereinzelt leicht stockfleckig, die meisten Porträts mit kleinem Wasserfleck im oberen Rand. Die Einbände wenig bestoßen und fleckig, die Rücken etwas verblaßt. Schönes Exemplar. - Vorderer Innendeckel mit eigenhändiger Widmung des Verfassers: "Baron B. de Tarchwitz [?] with the highest respect of the Author." - Untrimmed and partly unopened. Some minor foxing, small waterstain at top edge of most portraits. Spines a bit faded else very minor shelf wear.
