First Edition. Good copy only in contemporary full calf boards, lacking title page. Boards scuffed, and lightly creased at the margins. Corners and rear bottom board edge bumped, showing minor loss. Spine with raised bands and backstrip partly lacking; rear hinge broken. Initial leaf torn at the edges and internally, though with only minor loss. The text shows the expected light foxing and dust-dulling of age throughout; margins show some annotations in a contemporary hand. Top edge, gutter and prelims show faint rippling and stains from damp, with leaves remaining strong and very legible except as noted. Despite faults, a textually complete and internally strong example for its age.
