Ostrander was a soldier and wrote several books regarding the civil war and indian conflicts. No foxing, tanning or odor to the text block. Page with signature is tanned at the edges. Frontis tissue has tanned with age. No offsetting to title page or frontispiece. Front board is detached. Rear board is nearly detached. Full tan calf leather binding. 3" x 1" piece of leather missing at bottom section of spine. Black spine label with gold lettering has chips missing. A good rebinding candidate especially with the historical signature and fine condition of the text block. …
