Gold was written by Mark Bartman, edited by Katharine Britton, and illustrated by David Cain and Herbert Palmer under the direction of Michael Gallagher. The book was published by Junior Press Books through Albert Whitman & Company in 1940 and appears to be a First Edition but is not specifically stated as such. It's not an ex-library copy, is a hard cover book with no dust jacket, and is in good condition. The spine was beginning to erode so I put a piece of clear tape on it to shore it up. The book is 5 1/8" by 7 1/4" and has 48 pages with black-and-white illustrations throughout. In addition to being a great example of an older science book specifically designed for children this is a piece of Americana as well. It is the fourteenth book in a Children's Science Series that was "compiled and written by the Federal Writers' Project, Work Projects Administration, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania." Thank you!

Hardcover. Etat : Excellent. Great Vintage Original Apparent First Edition from 1946. Vintage Hardback Book of 31 pages with wonderful illustrations! Book is in overall Very Good condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. The inside text is in Excellent condition and appears to had very little use. No writing or marks in the book. Outside cloth covers show some minor soiling and some wear to the outside corners and edges. A nice vintage World War II Book! Book has come from a private collection.
