Among numerous accolades, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Art by Bill Clinton. Robert Bechtle is another accomplished, well-known photorealist, known for his paintings of Californian suburbia and cars, as well as portraits like Chuck Close. This book, produced on the occasion of his major retrospective at SF MOMA, is the definitive look at his career, tracing his work from the 1960s. The main feature of this publication is the artwork. The cited authors provide the briefest of commentaries on aspects of the paintings. Card covers (white and shiny): a little scuffing at the edges; with some pale markings/spotting in places. On the back cover, these markings tend to be of a blue hue. (image). Front cover features an understated and elegantly embossed signature of the artist (just visible on main image).
