Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Fine. First American edition. Fine in just about fine dustwrapper with some tiny nicks and tears and with a George Bernard Shaw blurb. Biographical novel about Cavell, a World War I British nurse executed by the Germans for helping POWs escape, novelized by Berkeley from his play and his screen-story for the 1928 silent film of the same name. Little remembered now, the film was understandably controversial in its time and was suppressed in some markets, and consequently a blockbuster in others. Cavell is memorialized today with a statue just off of Trafalgar Square.
