Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book, a collection of fragments and interpretations, explores the literary output of the Roman Elegiac poet Propertius. The author examines the literary techniques, devices, and themes used by Propertius, which provide insight into the socio-cultural context in which he wrote. The interpretations are firmly rooted in the textual tradition of the poems, which offers rich source material for understanding literary production in the Augustan era. The author frames his analysis with reference to pertinent theories in classical literature, such as Hellenistic influence on Roman poetry and the literary persona and poetic voice of Roman Elegiac poets. The book contributes to a scholarly understanding of Propertius, Roman Elegy, and the literary foundations of Augustan poetry. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
