Fortunately the Churches neeed little conversion in this respect; the clergy and ministers of religion, more ardently than the members of any other profession, have always flung themselves into the arena of political controversy. It is in thethod, and not in the fact, of their entry that reformation is required.' (p. 101 f.) -- `It is the duty of the Churches to denounce sin. The neglect of poverty is a sin; it is, therefore, the duty of the Churches to denounce this neglect.
