Thus, in the short space of one month, the influence which the French had held over the Peninsula, during several years, was brought to a fatal crisis." - pages 1-2. (303*221 mm). A really clean, tight and interesting example. Wales was the subject of one of the earliest books with steel engravings. The art historian Samuel Redgrave thought highly of him (Batty) his industry was great, his works carefully and truthfully drawn, his architecture correct in proportion and outlines and his merits as a topographical draftsman deserves recognition.
