Contains German propaganda fired at the 8th Indian Division of 13 British Corps during a single day, May 11, 1944. The attempt involved the mountain fighters of several Moroccan Divisions and the US II Corp in an offensive on Monte Faito in the Aurunci mountains. Very different messages accompanied by different pictures were used to terrify each intended audience, here in complete translations.

The missing plate is Paris 'Boulevard des Italiens'. Contemporary half calf. Textured cloth boards. Spine label and gilt decorations. Very good condition. Severe rubbing and abrasions to binding (see images). Internally age darkened and damp stained in places (mainly title page - see images). Most of the plates are clean with some age darkening towards the edges of the page. Overall still a nice copy.

The campaign too which preceded it was distinguished by a series of the most able manoeuvres, compelling the enemy to retreat from the frontiers of Portugal to a defensive position behind the Ebro, without being able to oppose the allies in any general action. Thus, in the short space of one month, the influence which the French had held over the Peninsula, during several years, was brought to a fatal crisis." - pages 1-2.
