A variety of Concrete Poetry publications and events are listed including: an intriguing description of a Bradford Art College happening and a magazine titled 'Poesia de Venezuela'. There is a jibe to Wild Hawthorn Press mentioning Finlay giving a Wild Hawthorn Prize to 'Cavan McCarthy, the Leeds poet, publisher & critic, in recognition of his rapid development and, specifically, for his article on Charles Cameron's ISIS in the last Tlaloc. Mr. Finlay is to announce the value of the prize later.' In fact the prize was for 'the poet who puts on the greatest weight of pomposity in the shortest time' (BannMidwayfootnote 87 p117). Condition: folded as issued, handling marks and very minor pen mark, no tears. Very good+.

Includes a typescript concrete poem on a pink sheet laid in by Cavan McCarthy, who also contributes with another concrete poem on the back cover. With additional notes and news from the press and the last five pages consisting of publications and magazines received for later review by the press, including works by Jorge Marten, Group H, Mira Schendel, d. a. levy, T. L. Kryss, Edward Lucie-Smith, Bob Cobbing, Kenelm Cox, Simon Cutts, bpNichol, Franz Mon, Jeff Nutall, Ambit, El Corno Emplumado, ICA Bulletin 165, Blew Ointment, Illuminations, Eight Pager, Form, Imago, Les Lettres, London Youth, Tarasque 5, and Werkstatt Aspekt among several others. Inside back cover features a short biography of each contributing artists. Outside back cover also includes a promotional section highlighting the first issue of the Small Press Review below McCarthy's poem. A very good example previously folded for mailing, but stored flat. With age toning, light foxing, three small stains at cover, one of which has penetrated the first five sheets, faint staple indentations, and bumps to corners.

This poster was the eighth in ED.912's 1967 "No." series. It reproduces a US Army death notification used to notify families of Vietnam War casualties superimposed over an image of a young soldier. While the colophon credits Cavan McCarthy as the poster's creator, its true authors are Simonetti and Sassi, two artists associated with the Situationist and Fluxus movements of the 1960s. Offset. 27 ½ x 19 ½ in. Very good; two pieces of tape, two additional patches of adhesive residue on verso.
