Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Ernest Nister & E.P.Dutton & Co., London, UK / New York. 1894. Hardcover. First Edition. Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a child's name, town, and date (Keithsburg, IL, Christmas 1902). Book Condition: Very Good; scattered chipping to the board edges on all three sides; rubbing and superficial scratches to boards. No DJ. Paste-on chromolithographed paper illustration of children at play in the snow on the front board and plain light green glossy paper on the rear; spine is secure in a gray cloth with light wear to head and tail; blue floral endpapers. There are 16 pages inside, all of which are secure in the binding. Both printings contain the exact same text, 12 inner line illustrations, and 6 full-page color circular "dissolving-view" transformation plates illustrated by Isabel Watkin. The inner line illustrations have all been colored-in with crayons by a child in a very tasteful manner of colors and coloring inside the lines. The 6 mounted double half-wheel circular mechanical chromolithograph illustrations are all functioning and have the original silk pulls in place. They have not been pulled their extreme limits by me. The pages are lightly browned and have scattered chipping to the edges, especially the fore edge. The verses are all clean and easy to read and accent the artwork. The mechanical wheels do not have a patent number on them which helps to this as a 1894 issue. Laid-in are three items; one is a portrait found on Dannemiller's Cordova Coffee; the next is a Victorian valentine by Whitney Made of Worcester, MA and the last is smaller valentine designed more for children. These two do involve "Harold". No International Shipping. Priority mailing will require additional postage. Isabel Watkin, Pen-and-Ink Illustrations (illustrateur).…
