Membership peaked at 57,000 but after the Soviet-Nazi non-aggression pact of 1939 it disowned its large Communist element. "The best publisher alive or dead", C P Snow. Original title-blocked red cloth. Covers showing some shelfwear, former library book with usual markings, pages clean and remains a nice copy. . . . .
