Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book is an assemblage of printed and engraved pieces created by the Swiss artist Steinlen, depicting scenes from the late 1800s to early 1900s. These depict themes from Parisian life, bohemian culture, political leaders, and social and class interactions. Through wood engraving, drypoint, etching, and lithography, Steinlen captures the complexity of humanity, with imagery that often centers around themes of poverty and industrialization. While grounded in the illustration style of the period, the depth of humanity and compassion Steinlen presents through his art gives these pieces a timeless quality. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. …
