Etat : Befriedigend. jeweils abwechselnd 304 Seiten auf Französisch und Englisch (insgesamt 608 Seiten) Buch mit altersbedingten Gebrauchsspuren, Einband stark verfärbt und stellenweise rissig, Ecken und Kanten deutlich berieben, die Ecken und eine Kante bestoßen, Buchrücken an Gelenk aufgerissen, deshalb Buchrücken von Buchblock getrennt, Buchrücken oben und unten berissen, an Kapital fehlt ein kleines Stück und Kapitalband zur Hälfte von Rücken gelöst, Buchschnitt fleckig, Bibliothekssignatur handschriftlich auf Buchrücken, Exlibris im Vorsatz mit Kugelschreiber dreimal durchgestrichen, ein weiterer ebenfalls durchgestrichener Aufkleber im Vorsatz, durchgestrichener Bibliotheksstempel auf Rückseite des Englischen Titelblattes, darunter wurden mit Kugelschreiber Nummern geschrieben, Seitenränder gebräunt, sonst innen sauber und ordentlich. Soft cover. Etat : Good. 1st Edition. Softcover 4to, with large folio volume of plates. In good condition, some staining and discolouration to covers, slight chipping to spine ends, spine is split down the center, binding threads still attached but probably needs a bit of restoration, internally is clean and bright. Plates are all present including folding panorama, map, graphs and lake cross section, as well as single page technical drawings. Spine of plates volume chipped and flaking, with some chipping from edges of covers, crease down centre of volume from being folded in half (it is now being stored flat). Plates are lightly foxed but mostly clean and bright, large water staining to upper edge of panorama, some plates at rear with light water staining. Una lettera manoscritta (14x21 cm) di 3 pagine + una bianca; datata Florence le 27 Janvier 1867. La lettera in francese è scritta e firmata da Léon de Rotru, l'uomo al quale i Torlonia avevano affidato la direzione generale dell'opera di prosciugamento del Lago del Fucino, cominciata nel 1854 e terminata nel 1877. Nella lettera, quasi certamente indirizzata ad Alessandro Torlonia (ma inizia solo con un quasi confidenziale Cher Monsieur) il de Rotrou riferisce sugli esiti dei suoi incontri con il governo a Roma, parla dei lavori stradali ai quali cointeressare a condizioni "très avantageuses" i comuni dell'Avezzanese. Documento di grande interesse (ed ovviamente unico) per la storia della bonifica del Fucino.…
