Original blind stamped cloth, VG+. vi+474pp, engraved frontis, index, bookplate & ownership address, cloth a little rubbed & bumped and with slight staining to the rear panel, some of the paper stock used to print the book has browned, offsetting from the frontis to the title, but an attractive copy none the less. A first edition of Hazlitt's translation of two works on Italian artists. Of Duppa's biography of Michalangelo Hazlitt remarks 'a critical biography of Michal Angelo, of a wholly satisfactory nature, already existed, from the pen, well known as a most competent one, of Mr Duppa.
