Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. Delve into the intricate web of Paris's water supply system as it evolved over three decades in the 19th century. This book chronicles the transformation from a limited and unreliable water source to a sophisticated network of reservoirs, aqueducts, and pumping stations that brought clean, fresh water to every corner of the city. The author highlights the engineering marvels of the time, including the construction of the massive aqueducts that transported water from distant sources, and the ingenious use of reservoirs to regulate supply and pressure. Through a detailed exploration of the technical challenges and innovative solutions employed, this book not only provides a historical account of a remarkable engineering achievement but also sheds light on the crucial role infrastructure plays in shaping urban environments. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
