Contains all other 75 illustrations from Baring-Gould's travels. Collated complete.A scarce book in which Baring-Gould and her husband, a fellow missionary, travel westward from North America, through Asia, before closing their travels in Egypt. The book offers an interesting picture into the attitudes of a 19th century Christian, and their perception of countries such as Japan, China and Sri Lanka when visiting different Christian communities. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally smart, with fading to the extremities and spine. Slight signs of rubbing and handling marks. End papers are bright and generally clean, with signs of a torn bookplate on the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound.
