Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents a series of scientific investigations into the inheritance of size in rabbits, conducted by the author in 1909 to test a new theory proposed by Nilsson-Ehle. The theory of multiple factors suggested that differences in size might be due to the various groupings of similar independent Mendelian factors, offering an explanation for seemingly continuous variation. The author's findings indicated an increase in variability as a result of size crosses, providing evidence in support of this theory. The book delves into the role of environment, the influence of sex, and the effects of litter size on growth patterns. It also explores the complexities of size inheritance, considering the influence of multiple factors and the impact of both dominant and recessive traits. Through rigorous experimentation and analysis, this book offers valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying the inheritance of size and contributes significantly to the understanding of quantitative traits in genetics. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
