A memory book filled with family photographs and fishermen from Iowa City, 1928 through to 1934. The photo album is filled with pictures of the Eives family going out to rivers and traveling together but mostly shows the men and their daily hauls of fish to be sold at the market. Several pages are dedicated to shots of each family featuring fathers and sons holding up the largest fish they caught and then standing next to a set of trees with a clothesline holding the groups haul of several dozens of hanging fish. Other photos are of the whole family, posed together and with their in-laws. Another shows four generations of the Eives family, a great grandmother, grandmother, and a young mother holding a baby. There are also pictures from family parties which include large, decorative cakes. A couple pictures show a large cake with stairs made out of icing and a heart at the top of it. During one of the family's trips, they travel to Big Bear Lake in Southern California. Pictured with them are other young families some of Native American decent. The pictures show all the children playing and fishing together on the lake. There is another fishing trip to Pine River in Minnesota, a family trip to Pasadena, California, and to a large lake in Indiana. The pictures also feature the fashion trends of the 1920s with one of the women in a shortened dress and bobbed hair. Several pages include pictures of men and women dressed up in aesthetically pleasing outfits and posing. There are also several pictures of automobiles from the 1930s, mostly parked behind a posing young gentlemen or being dug out of the snow. The snowy winters of Iowa are seen here with the younger family members pictured playing in it. Included are some newspaper cutouts about Iowa City news, events to go to, and "Who's Who" in Iowa. An interesting collection of family and work photographs from Iowa City in 1928 through to 1934.
