Charles Theodore Russell (1815-1896) was a Massachusetts politician who served in both branches of the Massachusetts legislature and as the Mayor of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Erastus Everett (1813-1900), educator, author, poet, was born in Princeton, Mass. From 1855 until 1875 he taught at a select school in Brooklyn, N.Y From 1875 through 1879 He was professor of Greek and Latin in Rutgers Female College, and subsequently in New Orleans College. He was the author of System of English Versification and of Progress - a Poem. Everett died in New Orleans, Louisiana. It should be noted that Walt Whitman recommended Erastus Everett's System of Versification to his readers in the New Orleans Crescent. …
