    Hardcover. Etat : Good. Undated circa 1916. Small slim 4to, pp34 (unpaginated) with charming double page illustrations by the famous Willy Pogany. Hardcover no dust jacket. binding of olive paper covered boards with square pictorial title label pasted to front cover in good condition with rubbing to edges and small split to top of spine. Inside award certificate from "Stonefield Infants School" dated 1917 to front free end paper, 8 pages are loose in two parts but present otherwise pages are clean and bright. A reasonable copy of a scarce and highly desirable title. Willy Pogany (illustrateur).

    Hardcover. Etat : Fair. 1st Edition. Paper covered boards with tipped in colour illustration on front cover, double page illustrations by Willy Pogeny with verses by Leonard Fable. Boards are grubby and corners bumped, inscription dated 1915 and booksellers blind stamp to fepp, pages are grubby with thumb prints to edges, one page torn and repaired with tape, pages attached but torn away from spine near tail. However, in spite of its faults this is a collectible and scarce book.

    Cloth. Etat : Good. A scarce poetical version of this much loved children's fairy tale, with many double page colour illustrations by Willy Pogany. William Pogany was a prolific Hungarian illustrator of children's and other books, best known for his pen and ink drawings of myths and fables. A large portion of Pogany's work is described as Art Nouveau and his artistic style was heavily fairy-tale orientated, often featuring motifs of mythical animals such as nymphs and pixie. Pogany was also renowned for his use of dreamy and warm pastel scenes with watercolors, and oil paintings. In a quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards and a colour inlay to the front board. In a quarter cloth binding. Externally generally smart. Minor wear to extremities. Bumping to head and tail of spine. Tide mark to upper extremity of front board. Internally firmly bound.
