The book is in very nice condition, square and solid with clean boards save for a light stain on the rear board (may even be a dye error). Foreedges just a bit dusty. Interior pages, lightly illustrated with black and white movie stills, are unmarked. DJ (now under protective cover) has a fair amount of wear, but is still bright. Creases and short tears at head and tail of spine. Rubbed on rear panel with some abrasion. Minor soiling. Long closed tear running from top left to mid section of front panel. Wear at corner tips. Orange cloth with black ink lettering on the spine. Square and firmly bound, clean internally. This book prints Fitzgerald's script for the film adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front that was heavily edited by his collaborator, E.E. Paramore, and producer Joseph Mankiewicz.

The book comes with its original, unclipped dust jacket (with the original $10 price intact on the front flap). The book contains numerous black & white photographs. From the Preface: "The version of Three Comrades published here is not a screenplay in the sense that it is not a finished blueprint for the making of a motion picture. The motion picture was eventually filmed from the shooting script that evolved from the collaboration of Fitzgerald, and E.E. Paramore - with Joseph Mankiewicz' final revisions. It has been customary in the film industry to use the talents of novelists to assist in adaptations or even write original stories for film. This F .Scott Fitzgerald script is interesting for its historical value, as well as its insights into how one novelist reworked the structure of another novelist into a dramatic form."
