Near Fine, folded horizontally. a few minor tears and scuffs. Nos. 23-25 (a single part) has a review slip stapled to one page. Samples of Red Hill Press work present in nos. 16/17. This poetry magazine began with a socialist slant and proceeded to chronicle avant garde currents of the mimeo poets and international surrealists in translation, with many contributions by the then-"king of the little magazines" Charles Bukowski, with ten of his poems in the debut issue alone, and appearances in issues 2, 3, 4, 7, & 8. The sixth issue is noteworthy as well, an anthology of works by Antonin Artaud translated by North Beach poet Jack Hirschman. The cover quote from Artaud sets the mood: "Love is a tree that is always high." Yeah, man. Far out.…
