A history of Frank Sample's shipyard in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, originally opened in 1840 which became famous for building over 35 naval minesweepers and tugs during World War II. It was awarded the joint Army-Navy "E" pennant in 1942 for constructing vital military vessels for the war effort. Later they added a massive 500-ton marine railway in 1979 before selling the property. It operates today as the Boothbay Harbor Shipyard carrying on traditional wooden boat restoration and historic ship projects. GBC-bound, some of the cover has pulled away from the binding.
