Two vintage color reference photographs from the 1988 film, one showing director Stephen Frears talking with actors John Malkovich and Michelle Pfeiffer, the other showing Frears talking with Pfeiffer while a camera crew sets up the shot to the left. Annotations in manuscript ink on the versos. Based on the 1985 play by Christop…her Hampton, in turn based on the 1782 French novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, about a widow seeking revenge on her ex-lover by shaming his young fiancée. Nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning three, including Best Adapted Screenplay. 10 x 8 inches. Fine.
