FREDERICK WEYERHAEUSER (1834-1914). One of the wealthiest Americans ever, Weyerhaeuser was a German-American timber mogul and founder of the Weyerhaeuser Company. BAILEY DAVENPORT (1823-1890). Davenport was the son of Colonel George Davenport, the founding father of Davenport, IowaDS. 1 pg. 8 x 3 . November 15, 1881. Rock Island, Illinois. A partly-printed document endorsed on the back Pay to the Order of HC Putnam F Weyerhaeuser. The check reveals the expensive, and likely commonplace, business transactions between these three individuals over Pacific Northwest timber lands Putnam and Weyerhaeuser had invested in. The check is very ornate, printed in black on blue stock with a directive border and typeface; it has a cut cancellation and it is in fine condition. Weyerhaeuser is a scarce business autograph. …
