Soft cover. Etat : Fine. 1st Edition, Special Edition. Two centre stitched volumes (ISBN 9789462084490/9789462084483) held together with a cover, 100+124p, illustrations (some in color), 24 cm. Very good/fine. Special limited edition of 1000; listed for the Best Dutch Book Designs 2018. Large silver page numbers are placed brazenly in the middle of the page in the Joris, but on closer inspection this turns out not to be an empty gesture: this way they form an effective and attractive divider between the English and Dutch texts. The play with black, white and the silver overprinting of the all-embracing cover produces a fine contrast against which the colour reproductions sparkle brilliantly. And the gems in the Joris cahier can be picked straight off the page.…
