Etat de la jaquette : DG. Saddle-stitched in wrappers. Cover by Joe Brainard. A full-length, dramatic work by the poet Dick Gallup, published by Peter Schjeldahl and Lewis MacAdams' Mother Press, and with a preface by the poet, and Gallup's close friend, Ron Padgett. In his preface, Padgett writes "THE BINGO has always given me great pleasure to read and think about, because among other things, it's a play friendly to the mind, like music you think you heard. I'm getting to Mallarmé and, austere as the comparison might seem, I'll make it. THE BINGO is the most pleasantly cerebral play I know of, partly because it contains no thoughts." Though not stated, this is Gallup's personal copy. This is from an edition of 500 copies, of which 10 were hardbound and signed by the author, and nos. 11-50 were printed in wrappers and signed by the author. This is from the regular edition. Very good minus, with edge wear, scuffing, and toning to the covers, though a clean interior.
