Etat : Very Good. Cardboard portfolio (ninth impression, 1950) containing 17 leaves detailing manuscript and inscription typeface, for use in classrooms and for craftsmen. The plates depicting Eric Gill's work, some incised in stone, are particularly interesting as they exhibit some of his earliest in the field. Edward Johnston was influential on Gill's later development of the famous Gill Sans, sans-serif typeface. The portfolio itself is in good to v.good condition, with some spotting on white pasted cover and slight bumping to corners. Individual leaves are all v.good with one or two showing some minor spotting. Toning commensurate with age. A very good copy.
