Hardback --- SUMMARY Les livres VIII à XIII des Gesta abbatum Trudonensium sont dus à un disciple et ami intime de Raoul de Saint-Trond (mort en 1138) dont l'uvre en prose vient d'être éditée dans la CCCM 257. L'abbé Raoul n'a pas voulu raconter lui-même l'histoire de son propre abbatiat qui commence en 1108. L'auteur est assurément un moine de Saint-Trond. Son nom pourrait vraisemblablement être Gislebert de Saint-Trond. Celui-ci a repris en tant que livre IX un long document écrit par son maître et adressé à l'évêque de Metz de l'époque, Etienne de Bar. Le volume achève ainsi la publication de l'uvre en prose de Raoul. Le récit du continuateur s'arrête en 1136, soit deux ans avant la mort de Raoul. Le texte nous rapporte des informations très intéressantes sur Raoul et l'histoire de l'éducation littéraire et musicale de l'époque. Il présente en détail les ressources économiques de l'abbaye de Saint-Trond et offre des informations de choix pour la connaissance de la vie quotidienne (nourriture, habillement, provenance des ressources, etc.), sans oublier les récits des violentes oppositions de l'époque.
