There is a name on the first free end paper otherwise the interior is clean and unmarked and the binding is tight. DESCRIPTION: Photo illustrated. Goldstein has been known as the Jewel of the Ghetto, the Paderewski of the Mitts, and the loneliest guy in boxing. A one time light weight fighter who became the best fight referee in the world.

Ruby Goldstein (1907-1984) a boxer himself was a referee in boxing for many years. He was the ref for many important fights, including Paterson vs. Johansson, Marciano vs. Louis, and Walcott vs. Louis. Sadly, he was the ref in the Benny "Kid" Paret Emile Griffith fight when Paret would die from the beating he took in the fight.
