Wood, pioneering neurologist and pharmacologist; Theophilus G. Wormley, internationally respected toxicologist and forensic chemist; William Goodell, noted gynecologist; Civil War surgeon and medical author John Ashhurst Jr.; renowned obstetrician Barton Cooke Hirst; and physiologist Edward Tyson Reichert. Large and visually impressive with elaborate engraved calligraphy throughout, broad manuscript signatures, and outstanding period presentation. A remarkable survival from the golden age of Philadelphia medicine combining autograph significance, academic history, and exceptional display appeal.
