The glossy coating that were often used on early hardbacks is starting to delaminate and spots and peel, with chipping at the lower right area. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No handwriting found, no bookplates, no library markings, nothing torn or loose. Pages are darkened due to age and type of paper used.…

This is a compilation of poetry with regards to various sports, MOST PAGES UNOPENED (So has probably never been read), 169 pages followed by a limitation page that states "OF THIS EDITION FIVE HUNDRED COPIES WERE PRINTED BY JAMES I. HAYNES FROM A DESIGN BY WARD RITCHIE AND BOUND BY EUNICE MURRAY", paper split to inside front and rear seams, otherwise binding is very tight, inscription on the front end paper reads "For the President when hunting from (its hard to determine the name which was signed), at the bottom of the page it states New York-Christmas-1933, very minor and small edge stain to the top left rear cover, leather spine shows minor wear and a bit of chipping to the top of spine, otherwise book is clean, complete, and tight, and most likely never read since most of the pages have been unopened. Inscribed and signed by W. R. Burnett on the title page. Burnett (1899-1982) was a novelist and screenwriter noted for Little Caesar, Scarface, High Sierra, and other noir classics. Signed on the front endpaper by contributors Erskine Caldwell (1903-1987), author of Tobacco Road and God's Little Acre; Albert Richard Wetjen (1900-1948), journalist and pulp story writer; Walter D. Edmonds (1903-1998), novelist whose Drums Along the Mohawk was filmed in 1939 by John Ford and starred Henry Fonda and Claudette Colbert; William Saroyan (1908-1981), Armenian-American author of The Human Comedy and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1940, for The Time of Your Life; Damon Runyon (1880-1946), reporter and writer whose stories were the source for the Broadway play Guys and Dolls; Jim Tully (1886-1947), hard-boiled novelist and reporter on Hollywood and boxing; and Borden Chase (1900-1971), novelist and screenwriter, whose Red River was filmed in 1948 by Howard Hawks and starred John Wayne and Montgomery Clift. The following authors also signed on their respective story pages: Burnett, who notes "Dressing Up" won the 1930 O. Henry Memorial Award; James M.
