First edition of this very scarce colour-illustrated sailing memoir of a tour of the Faroe Islands archipelago in the North Atlantic between Norway, Scotland, and Iceland in 1854. Rathbone & Greig mentioned in articles of the time that they intended to explore the islands, and on their cruise of the Yacht Maria, they visit the small villages, observe whaling, local customs, and the stark beauty of the Islands, along with their striking hand-coloured lithographs.
