Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. First Thus. Unique pop-up version of this book that was first issued in 1939 as part of this publisher's "Maxton Books for Little People" series. Like that first edition, this one features key words for beginning readers, which are underlined throughout the text in red. Unpaginated. This First Pop-up… Version from 1950 (First, thus) has a plastic red comb binding along the top edge. Oblong small quarto (8.25" x 10.25") has brightly colored wrappers, decorated with the art of Marion Guild, who also created each pop-up inside--there are 5 total & every one is in perfect working order! Some have tiny creases, but fully functional. Overall condition is VG, with slight rubbing to extremities, small area of paper loss to upper-outer side of back cover near comb. The clear acetate on the back cover is peeling in places, but largely intact. Pages creamy white with modest, age-appropriate tanning, but completely unmarked.
